At rest

Parking is right out front, with more in the lot behind the building — no garage, no meters, no hunting for a colonial parking space. Fittings after hours by arrangement — gladly.

Make a day of it

While you're in town.

The Colonial Mile

A few minutes down Richmond Road, Duke of Gloucester Street runs a mile from the College to the Capitol — fife, drum, and eighteenth-century shopfronts. Wear the new shoes; break them in honestly.

Shops & Tables

Coffee, good restaurants, and the Williamsburg Shopping Center are right along Richmond Road. We'll hold your garment bags behind the counter while you eat.

William & Mary

The second-oldest college in America sits a short way down Richmond Road. Commencement weekends book out the long table early — fair warning.

Questions, answered

Commonly asked.

Do I need an appointment?

No — the open door is policy, and most first visits are walk-ins. Appointments simply guarantee the back room and an undivided hour, which made-to-measure and wedding work deserve.

Will you alter clothing I bought elsewhere?

Gladly, and without commentary. Bring it in any open hour and we'll arrange the work with our trusted tailors.

How long does made-to-measure take?

Six to eight weeks from measure to final fitting, depending on the mill and the season. Weddings should start the conversation three months out to keep everyone's blood pressure colonial.

What should I bring to a fitting?

The shoes and shirt you'll actually wear with the garment, and the watch you never take off. Fit is a question of how you live, not how you stand in a mirror.
